Eligible VA Education Programs

Eligible VA Education Programs at Galen College of Nursing include:

  • Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 GI Bill®
  • Transfer of Post 9/11 GI Bill® Benefits to Dependents (TEB)
  • Chapter 30 – Montgomery GI Bill®, Active Duty
  • Chapter 31 – Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E)
  • Chapter 35 – Dependents Educational Assistance (DEA)
  • Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill® Selected Reserves (MGIB – SR)

Documents to Provide to Galen

Compile these documents to submit to us:

  • Certificate of Eligibility: Apply online at va.gov. Please note, the application can take up to 30 days to process.
  • Joint Service Transcripts (JST): This document applies to Veteran students only.
  • Benefit Certification Request: This request is made with a Galen electronic form.

Frequently Asked Questions

All questions regarding additional benefits like MHA or Books/Supplies Stipend should be directed to the VA at 800-442-4551 (1-800-GIBILL1).

Students using education benefits may also be eligible for federal financial aid. To be considered for federal student aid, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online or via the myStudentAid mobile app.

Add the Galen FAFSA code: 015924.

Contact the financial aid office for additional eligibility requirements.

Galen certifies VA education benefits quarterly for students who have submitted all required documentation.

Galen does not currently participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program or in Active Duty Tuition Assistance. We do not accept the Hazelwood Act.

Courses dropped after the published drop/add period are reported to the VA and may result in a debt between the student and the VA.
